Start with what you intend to record. Glow's iOS listing describes fertility-sign tracking, including basal body temperature and cervical mucus, alongside periods and a community.[43] lilCycles' verified scope is period, mood and strength-session logging, cycle predictions and wellness phase guidance.[57]
This is lilMONSTER's blog; we make lilCycles. It is a maker-written comparison, not an independent review or a hands-on Glow test. The source is Glow's US App Store listing, accessed 19 October 2026. It documents advertised features, not our measurements of their accuracy or effectiveness.
The documented differences
| Need | lilCycles | Glow |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday logging | Period, mood and strength sessions.[57] | Period dates, flow, symptoms and fertility signs.[43] |
| Charting | Cycle predictions and wellness phase guidance.[57] | Advertises fertility-sign records; Premium lists advanced cycle and BBT charts.[43] |
| Apple Health | Write-only HealthKit; never reads Health data.[57] | Advertises data sync between Glow and Apple Health.[43] |
| Account and storage | No account or cloud sync; device-local data.[57] | Mandatory signup and the full storage architecture were not established from this listing. |
Glow's listing distinguishes the free download/use offering from Premium features such as advanced charts, cycle analysis, articles and private messaging.[43] A fair comparison must not describe every Premium tool as free or assume its tier matches lilCycles Plus. We do not assign undocumented lilCycles features to paid or free tiers.[57]
A fertility chart is a different requirement
If you already record basal temperature, cervical mucus or other fertility signs, Glow's documented workflow deserves consideration.[43] A period forecast alone is not the same task. The supplied lilCycles facts do not establish fertility-sign charting or a contraceptive method, and lilCycles must not be used as contraception.[57]
Glow's store subtitle uses "FDA Listed"; this article does not treat that wording as evidence of FDA contraceptive clearance. The same listing says Glow is intended to aid ovulation prediction to facilitate conception, not contraception.[43] We have not independently assessed regulatory status or clinical results. Read current instructions and seek qualified advice for contraceptive or fertility-care decisions.
Privacy and sharing need their own evidence
lilCycles has no ads, analytics SDK or tracking; its audited App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".[57] That describes its collection model, not a promise that a device or an export is invulnerable.
We have not performed a Glow privacy-policy or network audit for this article. Its community and Apple Health features are documented, but that alone does not establish how every data category is processed.[43] We do not infer data sales, unsafe handling or the absence of privacy controls from the existence of a connected service.
lilCycles' optional summaries use supported on-device Apple Intelligence or the user's own local model server, with a redacted payload preview. Tracking works fully without AI.[57] This does not establish comparable AI functionality, hosting or quality in Glow.
Who should choose which?
Consider Glow for its documented fertility-sign records, charting and community if those match your routine.[43] Consider lilCycles if no app account and period, mood and strength-session records are the main requirements.[57] If your goal is pregnancy prevention, do not substitute lilCycles for a contraceptive method.
Is Glow the same app as Eve?
No. This article covers Glow, App Store ID 638021335.[43] Our separate Eve comparison covers the other product; a feature in one listing should not automatically be attributed to the other.
Can I move my Glow history directly into lilCycles?
We did not verify a direct transfer. lilCycles has an encrypted backup/export archive, but that does not prove compatibility with Glow.[57] Keep your original records until you have checked a recovery route.
