Ovia is worth a look if you want one app spanning cycle tracking, pregnancy, postpartum and perimenopause. Those are explicit goals in Ovia's current product page.[39] lilCycles is a different proposition: period, mood and strength-session logging on iOS and Apple Watch, without an app account or cloud sync.[57]
We are lilMONSTER, the maker of lilCycles. This is our comparison, not an independent review. We checked Ovia's US iPhone listing and publisher page on 19 October 2026; we did not install Ovia or test its predictions. Availability and employer-sponsored benefits need checking for your country and plan.
Compare the job, not the number of features
| Question | lilCycles | Ovia |
|---|---|---|
| What can I record? | Periods, mood and strength sessions.[57] | The listing advertises cycle records with symptoms, moods, sex and nutrition.[9] |
| What life-stage support is documented? | Cycle predictions and wellness phase guidance.[57] | Cycle, conception, pregnancy, postpartum and peri/menopause modes.[39] |
| What integrations matter? | HealthKit writes only; never reads Health data.[57] | Advertises writes to Apple Health and Fitbit imports for steps, sleep and weight.[9] |
| Is every service open to every download? | Plus subscriptions exist; check the current App Store offer.[57] | The listing separates employer/health-plan premium tools from the general app.[9] |
Ovia's pregnancy and postpartum features include baby-growth views and recovery content; its listing also describes friends-and-family sharing.[9] Those are reasons to explore Ovia if a shared pregnancy experience is your goal. Our shipped lilCycles facts do not establish an equivalent pregnancy program.[57]
Do not confuse tracking a condition-related symptom with diagnosing or treating a condition. This article does not validate Ovia's health-benefit language or promise that either app improves fertility. lilCycles is an 18+ wellness tracker, not contraception, and its phase guidance is labelled "not medical advice".[57]
Separate a personal tracker from a sponsored benefit
Ovia's listing says eligible employer or health-plan users can enter plan information to access health coaching, personalized content and additional programs.[9] A download alone therefore does not establish access to all of those services. Check eligibility before choosing Ovia for a particular coaching feature.
lilCycles requires no app account, has no ads or analytics SDK, and stores app data on-device without cloud sync.[57] That suits an account-free logging requirement, but it does not make a local diary a replacement for a coaching service. Nor does an employer-benefit listing establish what an employer can see. We have not audited Ovia's employer reporting or installed-app network behavior and make no claim about either.
Backups and the choice to move
lilCycles supplies an encrypted backup/export archive. Its local-data deletion does not remove samples already written to Apple Health.[57] Decide how you will preserve an export and manage those other copies before switching trackers.
We did not verify direct Ovia-to-lilCycles migration or Ovia's exact recovery workflow. Keep your existing record until you know how to retain the dates and notes you need. An export in one product does not establish import compatibility in another.
Which fits your needs?
Consider lilCycles for its no-account period, mood and strength-session workflow.[57] Investigate Ovia for its documented life-stage modes, sharing and, if eligible, sponsored coaching.[9][39] Neither recommendation is a prediction-accuracy score or a reason to abandon an app that already works for you.
Does lilCycles import my Fitbit or Apple Health history?
Its verified HealthKit connection is write-only; it never reads Health data.[57] Ovia's advertised Fitbit imports are a different workflow.[9] Do not assume the integrations are interchangeable.
Is there a price winner?
This comparison does not establish one. Ovia's listing and eligibility model differ from lilCycles Plus subscriptions.[9][57] Compare the actual offer, features and renewal terms shown to you rather than a headline download price.
