iPeriod's current iPhone listing describes cycle records, symptoms, BBT, reminders, reports and sync across Apple devices.[44] lilCycles brings period, mood and strength-session logging together on iOS and Apple Watch, with no app account or cloud sync.[57]
We are lilMONSTER, maker of lilCycles. This is our comparison, not an independent review. We checked iPeriod Period Tracker +, App Store ID 290231956, on 19 October 2026.[44] It is not a hands-on test of iPeriod or its separately listed editions.
The documented trade-offs
| Requirement | lilCycles | iPeriod |
|---|---|---|
| Records | Period, mood and strength sessions.[57] | Lists periods, symptoms, moods, weight, BBT and notes.[44] |
| Reports | Encrypted backup/export archive.[57] | Advertises export/print reports; unlimited PDF reports appear under Premium.[44] |
| Recovery | No app cloud sync; user-managed archive.[57] | Advertises backup and Apple-device sync.[44] |
| Health connection | Writes to HealthKit, never reads Health data.[57] | Lists integration with supported Apple Health categories.[44] |
If readable or printable reports are important, iPeriod's documented output is worth investigating.[44] An encrypted lilCycles archive is a different kind of export; the term "export" does not establish equal formats or direct migration.[57]
Privacy statements deserve attribution
iPeriod's listing says it does not sell or share private health data and describes password protection.[44] These are publisher statements, not an independent audit by this article. We did not inspect key management, cloud architecture, analytics or account-free onboarding.
lilCycles has no account, ads, analytics SDK, tracking or app cloud sync.[57] That meets a specific collection-and-login preference. It does not establish an overall security score against an app with connected backup.
For either choice, establish what happens after a lost device. A backup you cannot restore is not useful; we did not exercise iPeriod's restore path or cross-app migration here.
Pay attention to editions and access
The reviewed iPeriod listing identifies Premium features including unlimited symptom tracking, detailed fertility/BBT tools, an ad-free experience and unlimited PDF reports.[44] Do not automatically apply that access to another iPeriod edition or treat every advertised tool as part of a free offering.
lilCycles Plus offers weekly, monthly and yearly subscriptions, with a seven-day free trial on yearly.[57] We quote no amounts and establish no cheaper winner. Compare the actual product edition, features and renewal terms in your storefront.
Which app fits which routine?
Explore iPeriod if its documented symptom records, reports and sync match your needs.[44] Consider lilCycles if its no-account period, mood and strength-session workflow is the record you want.[57] More fields or fewer fields are useful only when they match your routine.
Can the predictions replace contraception or medical advice?
No such use is established here. iPeriod's listing expressly warns against using estimates as contraception or a substitute for professional advice.[44] lilCycles is an 18+ wellness tracker, not contraception, with phase guidance labelled "not medical advice".[57] Seek qualified care for medical decisions.
