Perigee's Cycles is another option when you do not want mandatory tracker registration. Its privacy help says you can use it without an account and create an optional profile for backup and another device.[29] lilCycles has no app account or cloud sync and keeps app data on-device.[57]
We make lilCycles. This is a lilMONSTER comparison, not an independent review. We checked Cycles' US listing, ID 577187307, and its official privacy article on 19 October 2026.[4][29] The help-page HTML was blocked; the same provider's public JSON returned the matching article ID and URL. No installed-app test was performed.
The meaningful distinction is the optional service
| Requirement | lilCycles | Cycles by Perigee |
|---|---|---|
| App registration | No app account.[57] | Privacy help describes account-free use and an optional profile.[29] |
| Recovery | User-controlled encrypted archive; no app cloud sync.[57] | Optional profile supports backup and another device.[29] |
| Tracking scope | Period, mood and strength-session logs.[57] | Listing advertises period/cycle tracking and predictions.[4] |
| Sharing | Our supplied facts establish calendar export, not a live partner service.[57] | Listing advertises partner connection.[4] |
Account-free and cloud-free should not be used as synonyms. An optional recovery service can be useful, and leaving signup off does not by itself establish zero analytics or remote requests. This article did not audit Perigee telemetry or first-run settings.
Check sharing before choosing it
If partner connection is the feature you need, investigate Cycles' documented offering and the current access terms.[4] We did not test partner permissions, what a connected partner sees or how access is revoked. Do not infer those details from the feature's name.
lilCycles can export to a dedicated calendar, but that is not proof of equivalent live sharing.[57] Consider who can see the destination calendar before exporting sensitive records. Different tools may suit different boundaries.
Keep recovery and deletion separate
lilCycles offers an encrypted backup/export archive and a local-data deletion control. Local deletion does not remove samples already written to Apple Health.[57] Look after archives and other destinations separately.
We did not verify direct import of a Cycles backup into lilCycles. Preserve your existing history until you know what can be transferred. No-account onboarding does not resolve recovery by itself.
Which app should I choose?
Consider Cycles if optional account-backed recovery and partner connection are benefits you want.[29][4] Consider lilCycles if its no-account period, mood and strength-session record matches your routine and you prefer no app cloud sync.[57] Neither is a universal privacy winner on the evidence here.
Does this comparison establish contraceptive effectiveness?
No. lilCycles is an 18+ wellness app, not contraception, and its phase guidance is labelled "not medical advice".[57] This article does not evaluate contraceptive methods or diagnose symptoms. Seek qualified care for those decisions.
